My buddy got me fired from work the other day

So long story short..... my buddy who is the assistant night shift manager at Dominoes Pizza got me a job recently working the kitchen. Shortly afterwards i had a death in the family and missed work unexpectedly. ONE day of work. I told them that Billy would have covered my shift but they never called him. Now my buddy who scored me the job is going to his boss and ratting me out.... i don't get it.... Now I'm out of work and won't be able to host my paintball tourney this weekend and its looking like in going to be forced to pawn some of my Yeti coolers and stickers to pay for rent this December. Not to mention Christmas is coming up and i was really banking on that Dominoes salary to pull me through.
