They woman's own husband and doctor have said the miracle didn't occur. Before you go off and sound like a condescending prick maybe you should do just a tiny bit more research.

And to further ruin your argument, they bent the 2,000 year old rules to get her in faster and lower the sainthood bar. Nothing says everything is on the up and up like breaking your own rules to hurry up and force a win.

Married to Jesus. Would be the worst sort of adultery.

If being a Saint involves a process of being judged and declared by men, then it means you're not actually a Saint.

She was already a saint. The canonization was simply official recognition of that fact.

A fraud and a con. One of the most misunderstood people of the 20th century; she's the epitome of modern myth-making. An evil bitch that's deserving of no accolades, let alone people making up 'miracles' for her. She fits in well with the legacy of the church.

Isn't she accused of never actually helping people? I've heard people claimed she (and her ministry) basically kept people in their living condition in order for her to keep her appearance in helping them.

Christopher Hitchens had a few things to say about her.

Are there any links, articles, etc that can shed some lift on why you say that? I don't know anything about her supposed "evil", so I'm genuinely curios.

In fairness, Penn is a libertarian hack. But it is pretty hard to find an objective take on her, she's pretty polarizing.

Expect to hear things like the quality of care was poor (in parts of India that doctors wouldn't even travel to), she proselytized more than she treated (I think it was probably obvious to everyone she was a nun) and that she *shudder* baptized people on their death beds without their consent.

As you can see - one scary creature. Pure evil.

Regardless of who's mouth it's spewing from, the facts are the facts. She loved poor people, alright.

"poor" as in they were left to suffer and die on concrete floors and often prohibited from seeking required medical care, sure.

She took money from the likes of Charles Keating and dictators, never missed an opportunity for a photo-op and had her name slapped onto her death clinics -- so much for humility, eh?

Maddox did a video exposing Penn as guilty of the title of his show. I don't like everything Maddox does but that video was solid. Basically used Penn's own tactics against him.
