My local police department put out a Facebook post saying that the last couple of months have been the most trying in our nations history. In regards to the police shootings. Anybody else think that is a overstatement? For law enforcement maybe, but for the nation as a whole.....no

As far as LEO is concerned, which is obviously what they meant, it's up there but still not as bad as certain times in our country's past. Everyone else, hell no.

Absolutely not. The Great Depression was really more like, The Great Melancholy. Wasn't that bad.

absolutely an overstatement

1. Revolution
2. civil war
3. great depression
4. WWII
5. Civil rights protests in 60's
6. Articles of Confederation era
7. 1970's oil embargo and vietnam protests
8. WWI
9. War of 1812
10. pre-civil war fights when adding new states

this current era isn't even in the top 10 of "trying times in America"

It probably isn't in the top 50 or even 100. I would have to make an exhaustive list to figure out even an approximation of where it belongs.

Trying for the police? probably not even that but I understand his emotion.

Not even close to the most trying time in our history.

I agree with this, although a lot of people are trying to make life much harder than it needs to be. If the "victims" would live by three rules, the "struggle" wouldn't be near as hard as it is:

1. Act right
2. Work hard
3. Mind your own business

Most of them are too damn stupid to realize that a good life is really that simple. They'd rather act a fool and have some bloodshed to show how powerful they are.
I'm afraid they're not too far from getting their wish in a bad way.
