Not so much where as who was fighting. JazzFest several years ago saw a guy who was high as frick get into it with a metal 55 gallon drum trash can. He was staggering along, ran into it, called it same names and squared up. We were all watching in awe as he punched it as hard as he could and undoubtedly shattered his hand. He then tackled it to the ground and it was whipping his arse when the police dragged him off in cuffs. Was truly awesome.

the Post office.

it wasn't too long before Hurricane Ivan.

I think the storm came like 2 days later.

I ended up being the peacemaker actually.

I think a casino is a pretty random place to see a fight. Last night at L'Auberge, in fact, I thought there were going to be blows. A 20-something frat-star and a late-50's man with a gray pony-tail were motherfricking each other pretty loud from across the dice table, but cooler heads prevailed.

I did actually see blows at the Belle some years ago. A couple of Livingston Parish $30,000-aires each got in a couple of good shots on each other right in the aisle between the table games sections. It appeared to be over a woman, oddly enough. The Belle Army was on them in about 10 seconds and they were done for the night.

Who is stupid enough to fight in a casino? Tons of witnesses, cameras everywhere, lots of security guys chomping at the bit to beat the shite out of some loser if necessary, along with the fact that the state police is represented on the property. Doesn't seem like a good idea.

One of my favorite pastimes in my 20's was standing in the Fred's/Sportzzzz parking lot at about 2:05am waiting to see who was going to go all "Ron Artest Malice in the Palace" on everyone's arse.

Was at Lowe's last week getting some plywood and a guy backs into a parked car 2 rows over as I am walking in. Heard the crash so I stopped. Driver gets out to inspect damage and from what I could tell, he was about to dash, but the owner of parked car was walking out and saw was about to go down. He runs to the guy. They exchanged some words and parked car owner starts throwing bombs. The guy was big as frick but super slumsy although it didn't matter. He connected with the poor bastard and had him laid out on the Lowe's parking lot. Thought I was gonna see a kick to the face too but he just opened his car and left without even inspecting for damage.

It was almost surreal watching that go down. I am so used to watching fights in a cage or a ring but watching 2 Joe Blows go at it was awkward.

Harrah's Casino in N.O. Surprisingly few fights in casinos across the country, but a pretty frequent occurrence at Harrah's.

Juco baseball game, Panola, TX.
Maybe 30 people in the stands. Local comments on how catcher effing sucks calling pitches. Father of said player comments on how coach makes pitch calls. Fan responds with "well, kid needs to quit being a bit-- and make his own calls."
Father drops him after a heated exchange in which player's mom was brought up.

The old Waffle House on Airline, across from the old Sam's.

It was after an LSU game. I forget who we played, but we won. It was either 1998 or 1999.

2 middle aged men, mid 40's - early 50's started arguing. One said that Southern would beat the shite out of LSU (guess his race) and the other said that LSU and Southern would never play because we would kill them on the field and the city would riot (guess his race).

It became very heated, very fast. Next thing we knew, it was a full out brawl in the Waffle House.

Still one of the craziest / funniest things that I've ever seen.

Just a few weeks ago I was stopped at the light in front of Womans on Airline around lunchtime. All of a sudden a car veers off onto the shoulder, the driver gets out, opens the passenger door, pulls the guy out and proceeds to beat his arse. He then gets back in his car and the other guy just starts walking down Airline. It was pretty funny because the lights went through an entire cycle and only a couple cars moved.
