Creola

Totally made up town. A lawyer in Alexandria wanted to put in a video poker truckstop, so he pulled some strings and had Creola incorporated at the convenient location where the Pineville Expressway merges with Hwy. 167. Rapides Parish voted out video poker, but Creola remains as a speed trap.

There's no actual town of Duty any more. It was probably a steamboat landing at one time, but there's nothing there now. Harrisonburg is directly across the river, and there's a honky right down the road where the legendary Jim Hawthorne has been known to sing on occasion.

The drive from Olla (another random town) over to Duty Ferry is the most scenic in Louisiana. You'll think you're in the Ozarks. When you crest the last big hill overlooking the Ouachita, you can see for 20-25 miles.

Zwolle

Home of a federally recognized tribe of Apache Indians. They migrated from somewhere out west during the time when Spain controlled Louisiana.

And nobody has mentioned Plain Dealing yet.
