This image of a defenseless teenager having police dogs sicced on him went "viral" in parts of the country that were shocked at so visceral an image. Kennedy (like Eisenhower before him) was happy to this point to leave civil rights as a "states issue", effectively turning a blind eye to the evils of Jim Crow. However, world politics changed everything: Russia was successfully using images such as this to score political points against the US (how dare you criticize OUR record on human rights when you are doing things like this to your own people?), and ultimately, Kennedy and then Johnson realized federal intervention was required. The CRA and VRA passed within 2 years.

Every living thing ever, not just relegated to human beings.

Every (Earth-bound) animal, plant, bacteria, etc.

Yea, because protest and dissent have never been integral parts of our country's fabric. Fricking brilliant.
No, dumbass. They intentionally started shite with the police for the specific purpose of inciting a violent response so they could film said response and pretend like they themselves were the innocent victims.

That's pretty slimy and if you support it, you're an a-hole.

You actually believe this? Good god. Did the four students who were killed agree beforehand to be the sacrificial lambs? did they draw straws to determine who would die?

I'd say the person supporting our govt marching 58,000 Americans to their deaths in a fruitless cause is the a-hole.

That existed at the time the photo was taken, unless NASA has some boss time traveling camera they need to tell us about.

Jerry Rubin admitted it years after the fact. Chicago too.

It's been part of the playbook for decades.

They agreed to star shite. I'm sure they didn't know what the outcome owuld be, but to deny that this was a strategy is pretty ignorant.

They agreed to protest, which is a basic, protected right of American citizens. If you're uncomfortable with this fundamental premise of people being allowed to express their disapproval of governmental actions, (such as leading soldiers to slaughter, but I digress), I can send you a long list of countries that punish dissent. You should look into moving to one of them where you might be more at home.

No, they agreed to start fights with police. Big difference, and renders the rest of your post meaningless.

Sweet Jesus nobody cares. We have a poliboard for two posters to talk past each other and both be right and wrong at the same time. Let the rest of us look at pictures.
