SF is pretty nice. It's like any other big city except with a nice location and thriving culture. The infrastructure is downright poor and it's overcrowded now but still a great city.

'Overrated' is subjective. I personally think New York is overrated. It's a great city but what makes it the greatest? Why am I expected to be in 'awe' of them or any other city? I personally love where I live and chose to do so. To each his own.

Are you in the city or do you live down south?

Grew up in PV. In the 1960's. Talk about right time, right place.

chains everywhere
where do you live? I have been here since 2001 and the restraunts are vastly improved. Johnson and Wales culinary school is located here and the city has everything I would ever want. Personally, I do not see the chains you are referring to. You must live near and interstate or the suburbs.

Great shows, pro football, pro basketball, a AAA baseball team that plays within a short walk of downtown. Very clean city and good quality of life.
