Used it this weekend and it worked for about a day or so.

I've used Talsar for a few years with mixed results.

Wife finally paid a big pest control company to start doing it monthly, I was skeptical.

But, they first sprayed last Tuesday, and since then I haven't seen a single one in the last 6 days and I've been doing alot of yard work.

Take a look at Talstar (bifenthrin). You can buy the concentrate on Amazon for a reasonable price.

Comes in granuals and should be done if you own a pet or kid. Cuts down on fleas, ticks, and ants.

Buy some extra and give it to your neighbors. Creates a buffer area around your yard. Did this when I lived in a neighborhood and never had a single ant pile.

I spray Permethrin. Zero skeeters.

To have long lasting effect, pair it with an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) like Archer

The IGR product will limit insects ability to grow to maturity making them incapable of reproduction. This is the best way to have long lasting control without spraying on the reg

If you live in EBR the parish workers will come spray your yard for free. Just call. It is covered in your taxes.

Another option might be getting a bat house. One bat eats up to a 1000 mosquitoes a night.

I'm going to build one of these with my boys soon. There are lots of simple plans available.

Just don't put it too close to your home. Bats are known to carry rabies.

I saw it on my last report too. But when they came and sprayed yesterday, the ticket says they used "Demand CS Insecticide" which is Lambda-Cygalothrin 9.7%.

The Talstar on last month's ticket was Bifenthrin 7.9%.

What are the success rates of these things? Is it all but guaranteed to attract bats?

My friend told me about them this past week. You can buy pre-made ones online. My only concern is - how long until a bat notices the open house?

From what I understand, the spray helps some, but the main thing these services do is search hard around your house outside for any standing water and create a path for it to drain and not pool up any longer. That's from a buddy of mine that works for Orkin. That's how they fix the main issue.

For me, if I'm going to be outside in teh sweltering butthole part of a deep south summer, it's going to be by a strong fan. Pushes them skeeters away.

I've been spraying my yard with Bifen IT for about a year now. I do it every two months. It does an incredible job killing lawn insects, but I have yet to put a dent in the mosquitos. I can sit outside for three hours and never be bitten. My wife can sit outside for three minutes and be bitten five times

This year, we are having a problem with flies. I have no idea where these motherfrickers hide. We always try to pick up dog shite instantly. My dog can shite, and by the time I walk to pick it up there are 15 flies on it. It's amazingly disgusting.

this just in "Mosquito have wings and they fly"

your fence doesn't keep them in or keep them out, you can no more control how many of them are in your yard, then you can control the wind.

you control them by spraying whole square miles of an area so you reduce how many are still alive within flying distance to come bite you, that's the only amount of Mosquito control there is.
