Mosque where the Islamic State proclaimed their caliphate has been destroyed...by the IS

This must be that the end is getting close for IS in Mosul.
It was constructed in 1172.

I don't see how there could even be room for different interpretations... these guys are assholes. Don't even respect their own history/culture.
I'm still heated about what they did in Palmyra. Was a place I wanted to visit, not that I was able to ever seriously plan to.

I had heard the bathrooms weren't properly functioning and the sight-lines inside the Mosque were improperly positioned so that that only 3/4 of the attendees were able to watch a beheading. .

I was in La Sagrada Familia today and I was watching people of different faiths take it all in and pondering the sad reality that Islamists would love to destroy it.
