Is this real? Does anyone wake up depressed, but the depression and negativity subside very quickly?
Any tips?

Btw, jerking off only helps a little bit.

Only those who wipe after they pee.

Wellbutrin XR 150mg for 5 days... Up your dose to 300mg on the 6th morning.
If this doesn't work then it's time for some California Rocket Fuel. (Google this if you're not familiar)

I wouldn't call it depression but yes there has been times where I wake up every morning kind of down and out. What's funny is by 10:00 everything is good. It's not sleepiness either.

Quit drinking.
Wake up earlier and get a workout in before work.

You need a routine or something to look forward to doing.
Just rolling out of bed to go to work is depressing as it is.

I'm like that later in the pm and better in am.

Keep a 5 hour energy by your bed & chug it right when you wake up. Maybe that'll get you up and out of bed. Also say a long prayer in the morning thanking God for everything in your life that brings you joy.
Are you prescribed anything that you take in the morning? If so, maybe it doesn't kick in until 10.

I had pretty severe morning depression (it was a titanic struggle just to get out of bed in the morning) during grad school. I was extremely hesitant to try any meds, but I finally relented and Wellbutrin really helped. The effect was subtle, it was just like my baseline energy setting was bumped up a notch back to my usual state.

I get it sometimes, and I think I've pinpointed some specific causes.
1. Procrastinated or otherwise did not accomplish what I wanted to the day before.
2. Stress about all the work I have to do that day while not able to get into at that moment (getting ready in the morning). This causes that dread of having that list stare me in the face.
3. It goes away when I get the day started and start knocking off to-do items.
I tend to be most productive when under a pressing deadline. It causes a vicious cycle where I don't have a full plate, and subconsciously procrastinate which adds to the mounting tasks, causing stress. But then I get really productive and knock out a ton of work and feel better. Rinse and repeat.
Try to set challenging but attainable daily goals and stick to them. Easier said than done. I'll experience this tomorrow as I didn't reach my daily goal today and am too tired from traveling and working all day to keep going.

Good list. It's also amazing how much you get done the day before vacation.

I really appreciate the serious replies. Some of what you guys are saying is identical to what I occasionally experience.
The poster who talked about letting tasks build up, so you can actually get a ton done, could be my twin. Lol. We have to stop that, bro. Reaching that level of productivity all day, every day would be beastly.
Thanks again.

I agree. I work harder when I'm under the gun. Sometimes I just don't give a shite though.
