quote:

more problems arose for New Orleans’ new billion-dollar airport after a contractor recently discovered multiple breaks in the sanitary drain line that runs underneath the terminal.

quote:

the representative said there are 15,000 linear feet of drain line under the terminal, and as a result of the recent breaks, the contractor will have to replace about 300 of those feet.

2% of the line isn't huge... but how are these problems continuing to happen?

I know it's fun to blame Mitch... but Mitch didn't personally design the terminal or construct it. There are some serious issues with the design and construction quality.

So many construction and design issues. Are our local companies not able to handle a project this large? Are they unable to handle design-build projects?

There's a poster on here who has been all over this.

Pretty much said its a disaster and is already sinking, the contractors and everyone fricked up, bad.

Honestly I think we desperately need a new airport and am looking forward to it, but goddamn this city and state can't do anything right.

Wasn't this the excuse for the last delay? They're not even getting creative in their lying anymore.

On the bright side, with all of these delays, all the access roads might actually be built in time for the 2035 grand opening.

They might want to get ahead of the curve and build a couple of extra gates for the SpaceX and Blue Origin spaceships for the moon tourists while they have the spare time.

BREAKING: new construction has a few hangups as panic grips the public

Honestly, they probably had a preconstruction survey/study lined up to test for this type of shite, but some politician probably laundered the frick out of that money and the study was never done

Oh, they said it's not connected to the OTHER problem with sewer lines, as if that's supposed to make us feel better...

How is that possible? Boh Bros drove piles for 2-3 years. Did they need another year or 2 to drive more?

But Mitch certainly tried to rush it through so it could potentially be ready for the tricentennial.

You mean hearing "These are totally new problems with the sewer line" isn't a comfort?

Why didn't they just build the new terminal next to the old one?
