Looking into purchasing either a moped or scooter to commute back and forth to the office everyday. I've never ridden a scooter, moped, or motorcycle before, so I figured that I would start with the moped or scooter. Also, my budget is only about $2-3K.

What kind of scooter or moped would the OT recommend and where would you purchase it?

Commute is Metairie to Downtown.

TIA

Have you considered a small motorcycle?

1. Go to your local dealer and take lessons before doing anything.

2. What sort of traffic and what sort of roads will you be seeing on a daily basis?

ETA: Nevermind, I see where your going to be daily. I'd first take lessons and once comfortable I'd look at something around a 650-700 sized motorcycle.

Just make sure your jacket doesn't have three patches and you will be okay. Make sure it doesn't have your territory. We don't want things to get misconstrued.

Since you can't figure out how the reply function works...I'll throw you in that mix too. Dummy.

Just wanted to make sure you were talking about Darth. Because OP's initial post didn't include that info. If you'll use that brain of yours, you can easily figure out that Darth replied at the same time of the edit.

Does that make you stupid? Or just an a-hole?

I posted that before he edited. But thanks for being a dickhead anyway.

The hardest part is breaking your homosexuality to your parents... getting the scooter is easy.

I think on a Moped they only dust check you, not the full fledged mud check.

Be careful out there. Good friend of mine had a scooter -- he managed to get in three wrecks in a couple of years. Each was worse than the one before.
