A Monroe woman is accused of siccing her pit bull on two Monroe police officers Monday.

Stacey Lecroy, 51, of 1811 N. Fifth St., is charged with aggravated assault and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Officers responded to an aggravated assault complaint after Lecroy was accused of pointing a handgun at someone early Monday morning.

When they went to Lecroy's home, she reportedly opened the front door and told her pit bull, Zeus, to get them and released him without a leash. The officers ran backward to avoid the dog. One of the officers repeatedly told her to get the dog and put it in the house. Once the dog was secured, officers read Lecroy her Miranda rights.

Lecroy reportedly said she had not traveled to an address on Speed Avenue to point a gun at the original complainant. Officers felt the hood of her car, which was hot, and found a handgun in the front seat in plain sight.

Lecroy was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center.
