A lady at my old workplace went through a similar situation. She explained that all any parent can do is love their child for as long as God had them here and provide for them.

This is wide open for abuse.

I hope they actually wait until she dies to harvest the organs, but there's certainly no guarantee thst they will.

Proposals have been made to bypass the legal and ethical issues surrounding organ donation. These include waiting for death to occur before procuring organs, expanding the definition of death, creating a special legal category for anencephalic infants, and defining them as non-persons.

Keri Young, from Oklahoma City, was devastated to discover that her baby, who she named Eva, would be born without a portion of her brain and skull due to a condition known as anencephaly. Keri – who learned of the child’s fate during her 20-week ultrasound – is scheduled to give birth to her child on May 7 and will likely only spend a few days with the newborn before she dies.

This is actually one of the storylines from the show Private Practice.

I'm sure it gives the mother some small comfort to know her baby will help other babies live. Think about it how difficult it must be for babies to be matched to organs.

I can't even imagine how difficult it is to do transplants on newborns.
