quote:

A Georgia woman is accused of locking her 13-year-old son out of the house overnight as punishment for missing his curfew, leaving him to sleep on the concrete patio in the backyard.

quote:

Folsom's son told a sheriff's deputy that he had returned home after his 9 p.m. curfew the night before and found the doors locked. His mother came to the door and told him she was tired of him coming home late and that he should find somewhere else to go, the teen told the deputy.

So, if this 13 year old would have robbed a store, lots of people would have blamed the kids parents. Mom gets fed up and makes a kid sleep outside, and she's arrested. The world is upside down.

Yeah gonna side with the law on this one. A 13-year-old boy should not be locked out of his house overnight in any environment.

Bull crap, if he thinks he's adult enough to break curfew he's adult enough to face the consequences

There are better ways to handle that situation before locking him out overnight.

She likely already tried other things. Still, Id probably just ground him and if it happens again then ground him for longer this time.

Mom was stupid. If he breaks curfew, then he doesn't go anywhere for a while. I wouldn't lock a child out overnight. That was way too risky for many reasons.

Most of the OTs children are going to be massive pussies who won't know wtf to do the second mommy or daddy aren't around.

Did any of you actually read the article? The kid had a blanket and pillow while sleeping on the back patio.

This.

She had better ways, such as not letting him leave the house next time.

At 13, it isn't getting locked out, it's called camping. He obviously had better places to be that kept him from being home on time. He should have gone back there.

I don't care if he had a blow up bed on the patio, I'm not locking a 13 year old out of the house. There are better and safer ways to punish a kid.

At 13 I would go camping with buddies after we raided our dads' liquor and beer and get passed put drunk and not even make it in the tent.

Is being forced to do it the bad part, because the event itself is nothing.

Holy shite. 13 is certainly old enough to be locked out. We allow 13 year olds to fly on the own. Don't be stupid people. Teens aren't babies.
