They suck.

Merry Xmas Kige

ETA: I’ll give my most recent one on a connecting flight out of Dallas to San Diego. I got fricked on a carry on and had to check it boarding the plane out of Baton Rouge.

Because we were 50 minutes late on takeoff, the connection at Dallas left me 15 minutes to get to the plane. Got my bag with 3 minutes to go and 15 miles to get to the flight.

Drank at the bar for 5 hours till the next open flight

Eta2: I still don’t understand why they fricked us making the connection. Not our fault the initial takeoff was delayed. Hold the fricking other plane instead of announcing on landing to rush to the train to make the connection lmao

early 1990s, I was 20 I think; 6am flight to Cleveland, probably via BNA. Figured I'd stay up all night. Might have smoked a joint around midnight at the Sig Ep house with a frat friend (I wasn't in a fraternity).

I think I laid down at a different friend's (my ride to BTR) couch at an apartment on Jefferson at 3am and woke up at 5:45am.

I think it was American and I think they rescheduled me later that day for little or no charge.

I sat on the tarmac for 45 minutes one time waiting for a catering truck. The flight was between Dallas and Shreveport and was shorter than the wait. But by God they served us a coke over east Texas.

I missed my flight one time for work. It was stressful and I had to wait for the next one.

I have missed connections in every major city. It happens, don't settle for the holiday inn. Make them put you in a Marriott. If something happens like a bag have to be unnecessarily check, complaint and get the 10k bonus miles. Bottom line is don't get pissy and you'll make out fine.

My flight made it out of newark to orlando tonight and got in 30 min early. That flight has been delayed every day about 2 hrs for the past week so it's a christmas/new years miracle. Back on topic, I've run to make connections in IAH, DFW, and CLT, it's not worth worrying about it a whole flight though. Just don't schedule the last flight of the night if possible

I left my phone on the shitter at JFK and by the grace of God they let me leave the plane and held it up for a minute to let me go get it.

I honestly don't think I'll ever be that lucky in life again.

Missed a flight in '99 from Dulles to Atlanta. A bunch of us got to the gate with 15 minutes to spare but the plane took off early leaving us behind. This was back when they'd fly half full planes round the clock. We just got on the next one.

Fell asleep at my gate when I was about 15.

Had to wait about 4 hours for the next flight I could get on. The guy who worked for the airline who helped me out was a total douche to me. Finally gets me to walk me to my seat.

We stop about 8 feet into the plane and he looks at me and smiles and says, "welcome to first class, kid."

First time I ever sat in first class.

2014 time frame. Was supposed to be flying out of Boston to go back to Louisiana. Flight was delayed so I started drinking Harpoon IPA. Something crazy like 7-8% abv. I was thinking I’d get a little sauced and sleep through the entire plane ride.

Hadn’t eaten that day and after about 5-6 tall ones, I was getting in the bag. Come to find out the flight was completely cancelled along with every other flight out of Boston that day/night because of a terrible winter storm.

Anyway, there I was drunk as hell and needing to book a hotel along with half of Boston. Trying to navigate the whole logistics of it all was terrible, and It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Anyway, booked a hotel and called a taxi to drive me there... taxi was booked up due to insane traffic so Boston PD was helping people get to their hotels. I ended up hitching a ride with Boston PD (Willingly) to my hotel. Rode in the back with another couple, who were completely sober. One of the cops and I started talking about military stuff and cracked jokes at the idiots stuck on the roads in electric cars while on the way to the hotel. The couple in the car with us must have been middle-eastern or something and didn’t say a word the entire ride.

Got to wherever I was staying, place was jam-packed with everyone else in the same situation. It was like one of those refugee centers. Finally got into my room and flew out the following day with one of the worst hangovers of my life.

Milwaukee WI, September 6, 1985 Had partied with friends until the bars closed the night before, one of my friends was to fly out on Midwest Air 105 that afternoon. The plane crashed on takeoff killing all 31 on board, my buddy being hung over, and sick as a dog, had rescheduled on a later flight, and was in his hotel bed when the crash occurred.

5 of us, 3 adults and my 2 kids flying back from Syracuse to NOLA. Made connection from Syr to JFK. Get to JFK and see our flight delayed, then cancelled.

Get a credit and shag arse to Newark and book a Delta flight to ATL then NOLA. While we were booking we tried to get a Newark to NOLA flight but it was already overbooked. I talked to the gate agent 2 minutes after they closed the doors and ahe told me they ended up having 5 empty seats on the direct flight from Newark to NOLA.

The flight we booked gets delayed by 3 hours and we miss our connecting flight to NOLA.

When we finally get to ATL we waited 45 minutes for a parking crew to pull us up to the terminal, about 100'.

Ended up spending the night in the ATL airport and flying back on the first flight to NOLA in the AM.
