Maybe the writer was trying to hide the gender of the victim, but I have gotten to the point where I don't grant that "benefit of the doubt" to journalists anymore. So your view of this is probably close to correct, unfortunately.

If a 25 year old is fricking a 15 year old regardless of gender you shouldnt be moving on. Its sick.
