I just finished a great book about how Shreveport was established after the clearing of a huge log jam on the Red River in the mid-1800's. Great summer reading.

They are real, save yourself some trouble. If ya wanna do something stupid like get a watercraft, car, blah blah..... Just rent it for the weekend and get it outta your system.
Cause when you buy it You will have to pay for it then, then insure the thing you pay and when it breaks you pay again, and if you try to sell( usually you will) you will take a big hit on it.
Rent it, and pay way less. LOL
If you wanna give up a marraige for a younger woman, dont do it cause it will end up costing you more..LOL

Mine started at 23 and never quit.

And they are real. Like you took the bait at some point in your life, noticed the cage door swinging shut and every fiber of your being says run MF run!!!

But a sliver of your rational side keeps fading in and out. "Don't run. You gotta place to park everything." So...Get the boat. Get the vette. Ride. Cruise. See the sights. But don't burn that bridge. You'll need it, really need it, after the urge backs off.

I just know you've always been a big fan of Shreveport and its history. Thought you might want to check out a real page turner.

What really sucks is when you don't have the money to act on the impulse.

I witnessed a buddy of mine go through one after getting a divorce at the ripe old age of 26.

In the past 5 or so years I have watched him by and sale a new Ford F250 and a Corvette. He sold a $200k house his parents gave him when they down sized and built a bigger brand new one on a lake in a new neighborhood. Last I heard he has sold that one after living in it for about 2 years and is now planning on building himself another house on some land.

Part of me thinks it wasn't as much of a quarter life crisis as it was an attempt to try and find a new girl. Needless to say he is still single and hasn't even dated since his divorce.

He's not a bad guy, I think he just went about trying to find a girl the wrong way. The only saving grace I think he can take away from all this is he's lucky he did not meet some money hungry girl to take him up on his offer.

Unfortunately that's how they happen.

You don't realize it until it's too late.
