Has anyone noticed how desperate the Perkins/Bluebonnet Area is to be like Mid City?? It appears all the choice establishments have started in Mid City then open a second location in the Perkins/BB/Highland area. Superior, Bistro Byronz, Georges, Serops..

It's like they are trying to start a copy cat city... Mid City 2.

It's like I always say:

It's a lot like when my little brother went through his foot-fetish phase and he was always borrowing my computer to look up foot porn. Yeah we thought about having an intervention for him but we just couldn't explain to my mother how foot-porn could be a real addiction. She just kept saying "he's not drinking or smoking the foot porn, how could he be addicted?". So in the end we didn't do any dramatic intervention or send him off to a rehab or anything but I still feel like maybe we should have. Anyway he eventually grew up and grew out of it, got a pretty nice job working for the state now. Pay isn't the greatest but the benefits are above average and you can't beat the vacation schedule.

It is like my parents want their area to be cool so that I'll come way out there and visit them. frick that--they come to me in Mid City BR.

You do understand that the owners of those establishments chose to locate in that area of town?

Did you stop to think why that is or did you assume the Grand Tsar of Perkins Road demanded that they open up new locations?

This is a really odd thing to be upset about. Is this what you and your buddies at Radio Bar talk about?

This is a common misconception about working for the state. Christmas Eve isn't even a holiday.

I'd group this with Texas Posers or Biker Posers or anything else that no one would want to be.

I know right? I was saying just the other day that I couldn't figure out why businesses try to open up locations near areas of elevated disposable income.

As a resident of poser mid city, I can say that we plan on copying everything. You should come on down next year for "Beige Light Night." It's going to just like White Light Night, except instead of art it'll just blown up digital pictures of some Highland Road resident's most recent European vacation.
