Group of 7 headed down that way at the end of next month. All one year out of college. Turning to the O-T for any tips or places to check out while down that way.

& inb4 hookers/blow/otballer statuses.

Edit: All guys on the trip, wanted to do a beach destination, we've already done Vegas, etc. We're budget minded but plan to have one good night in South Beach. Looks like what I'm hearing is to hit up a couple of the College spots to best accommodate. Any info in renting a boat (no captain) and bar/restaurant hopping along the bay side?

Stay away from South Beach. None of you will have enough money to get laid.

I agree unless you're staying high end and one year out of college screams low end.

Tootsies is where it's at. I agree with others. Miami isn't anything special and I would think about going elsewhere

That's okay. What I've learned on the internet is that every place in America is a shithole except for Austin and Portland.

We had a good time in Miami, but we were all about 30 years old.

Miami is fing awesome. Don't let the haters get you down.

You said group of 7, all guys, or some women, or mostly women?

If you are all guys, you will have to buy bottles, about $400 per bottle, minimum of probably 2 for your group, for any of the clubs. Drinks on the beach (non beer) are $20 a pop, so bottles are actually not a "horrible" deal.

Only place i've ever been where hot chicks get turned away from clubs

As for places to go:

Food (trendy good spots prob $25-30 a person or so)

Pubbelly/Pubbelly sushi
The Dutch
Macchialina
Yardbird
Scarpetta (more expensive)

Places to go drink/party

Clubs:
Mynt
LIV (if you really want to go there, somewhat overrated to me)
Story
E11even (kind of a strip club/club/bar combo open 24/7/365)

Miami Beach isn't really a "bar" type place, more lounge/clubish. If you go downtown/brickell, there are more bars where you can grab some cheaper grub and just drink with the locals

Edit: I assume you're staying on the beach since you're on vacation?

I lived in the design district when I was down there. It's always a cool place, but not exactly a tourist attraction. Wood Tavern and the Butcher Shop are great places to go over there, and they have open air art displays every Tuesday about this time of year.

South Beach sucks.

It really does.

It's full of Yankees, Russians and Venezuelans with too much money. It's elbows and assholes for as far as the eye can see and everything has a 2000% markup.

If you're going to people watch, stay on the main concourse and chill outside of Sushi Samba or something.

There are great restaurants down there. I think cuban food sucks and smells worse, but it's the only place in the US to get it. Peruvian food is huge. Get the ceviche with everything from just about any restaurant and you won't be disappointed.

As for getting laid? I never found it that hard and I wasn't balling at the time. Just don't expect the woman to be exclusive as most of them might as well be escorts.

I'll likely be at E11even on Saturday night actually. They are putting the fight up on their 30 ft LED screen

Brickell area is great -- S Miami Ave in Brickell has some awesome bars and thats where I'd go. Also Space is a pretty good club. South Beach is too expensive, I'd maybe go there once just to try it out. Club Liv is like $60 cover and it's not worth it, spent almost 500 there in a few hours. So stupid.

frick South Beach, just avoid the area.

The college bars the UM kids go to in the Coconut Grove area are pretty fun, one is called Tavern in The Grove.

If you like cars check out The Collection and Lamborghini Miami. Owner of Lambo Miami is really fricking cool and young. The city is full of exotic cars so thats also a plus.

If you want to shop Aventura Mall has everything, Bal Harbor if you're a millionaire or want to window shop/see a bugatti, and Sawgrass Mall in Sunrise if you want to have money left in your wallet.

You can get a cheap ferry to the Bahamas if you all want to go for a day. It's a fun booze cruise. Lots of hookers and blow.

What do you want to do? The city has so much to offer.

Spent the first few years of my life there. Best food in the city and it's safe, so yes, you will have a blast.
