its safer than Metry.
I grew up 7 blocks from the murder scene. Parents have lived in this same neighborhood since 1964. I have only heard of home and car break-ins which can happen anywhere.
This part of Metairie is not riddled with crime and certainly not murders.

i can tell you most of Metairie rolls up their sidewalks at night...
I live right near where this happened. There aren't a ton of people out at 11:00 on a week night however I'm saying it is odd to have someone breaking in to cars this early in the evening.

I am sure it's a great area but the fact remains you have a ton on thugs within close driving distance so it's not going to stay safe for long unless we increase entitlements

I agree with that. Not defending Metairie overall. Just noting that it is odd to see cars broken in to the early in the evening. It is very common in the area to have these problems but I don't think it's common this early.

It is odd to do it early. A few posters on here say they know the family but not many have mentioned the college ages daughter but all they have said is she wasn't home. Is she a high character person or does she hang out with shady people?

She's a senior and actively involved at her university. Wouldn't hurt a fly. None of the family would

I was thinking maybe a friend or something but I guess not. This is a weird one for sure.

I figured out the mother's maiden name because someone on the news (whose family members I know) said she grew up in the neighborhood where the murders took place. By her age I knew I had to know her. She was 2 years ahead of me at St. Angela Merici and Archbishop Chapelle High School.
NO WAY on God's green Earth was she involved in the murder of her husband and son.

So you do know her?
and she is a very peaceful, unassuming woman?
Its either a completely random act of violence, a drug deal scenario.

How long ago? You have no clue what can happen in even a short period of time.

Possible it was a wrong house thing.

JPSO now admitting the possibility that a group of three to four armed gunman may have gone to the wrong house in the neighborhood.

Horrible, no matter who it was supposed to be. My husband and I were in Meyer the Hatter a few weeks ago and I am pretty sure Nick was the young man who helped my husband find the cap he wanted. Just sickening.
