quote:

Zimmer says he smoked weed for the first time while attending Washington University in St. Louis in the 1960s, and he continues to use the drug. He told Inc. magazine in 2016 that he used to inhale "anything that combusts" and that he once smoked six joints in an hour with the spiritual icon Ram Dass.

Through the years, he used the drug as a crutch as he weaned himself off alcohol. It's been 35 years since the recovering alcoholic had a drink, and he credits much of his success to his ability to "transfer the addiction" from a potentially dangerous drug to a more benign one.

This is arguable

No long term double blinded studies on weed use, anybody who says anything definitive is lying

What?

Its his personal story. How can you say that's arguable?

He didn't say it would work for other people. If I ween off alcohol by slamming my head against a brick wall and it works for me for 35 years when nothing else would, who are you to say I'm lying?

Ridiculous

lot of people say LSD is way better, as far as expanding your mind and giving you scientific and creative break through

Steve Jobs and the Double Helix people for example

What? You mean there have been no long term human experiments when the Feds all declare it harmful? How can this be? We should definitely ask for volunteers from the science ethics panels for immediate human testing!!!

Herein lies the rub played over and over again. Can't test it as it is unethical, it's unethical because we cannot determine without testing it. Just take our word for it as "we're from the government and we're here to help".

Now, in the meantime, just point to where after 50 years of common, popular usage by millions of Americans....show us the bodies! The graveyards are full of drunks, heroin users, cocaine users, meth heads. Show us where the cannabis bodies are buried.

Montel Williams uses it for MS. Melissa Etheridge used to during cancer treatment. Morgan Freeman uses it for fibromyalgia. Ashamed the government and police lobbies are so closed minded about keeping it Schedule 1.

They are nowhere even comparable. You can get a little high every day after work like you would killing a six pack. If you dose every day, you're a fricking madman.
