It wasn't just penny pitchers either.. $5 to get in, and then any drink was a penny.

Slugging down McCormick-brand anything, pop into Nitecaps and act appalled that beers were $2, then stumble down to the Cajun to bet on how soon the ceiling/2nd floor would collapse.

If you struck out in those 3 places, you could hit the Pub and see if there were any heavy drinkers from the sororities still stuck to a barstool

then the Keg re-opened and the whole thing went to shite

Beat the clock was still the coolest bar special idea ever.

9 p.m. we'd get in line and wait for Nitecaps to open the doors.

9 p.m. beers a quarter
9:30 $.50
10 $.75
10:30 $1

Good times

Saturdays at Shanahan's were nickel nasties. $.5 for an 8 ounce cup of whatever. One time we stacked the cups to the roof.

Anyone remember the "What would you do for $100?" contests they'd have? Usually a drunk guy would do something disgusting and then get trumped by two chicks making out or feeling each other up.

I was going to bring this up. That was during the mid-00's. I know at least one of the girls who 'won' the what would you do for $100.

Beat the Clock

We used to go to beat the clock night and see how big a pyramid of empty beer cans we could build before the price went all the way up.

It's fricking impressive what a bar full of motivated stupid college students can do when given almost free access to cheap canned beer.

The whole reason they shut down. Girls would strip to win and they didn't have a strippers license.

One night after penny pitchers I walked on my roommates girlfriend naked on the living room couch with her arse in the air pissing all over the sofa like a geyser. My roommate then walking in naked with a full on and scooped her up in a firemans carry and brought her back to his room. At that very moment two more friends came stumbling in. One passed out in the doorway and spent the night there half way inside/half way outside the other went and laid right on the freshly pissed on
couch, pulled a blanket over himself and puked all over it, apologized, cleaned it by flipping the vomit side of the blanket on to himself, Then passed out.

There is a new-ish bar that does a lot of live music in what I think was the old Pub.

No idea about the others.
