Medical Industry: Biggest Crooks Ever

So, I went to the ER, got a CT scan, a bag of Flagyl and a bag of fluids.
Drum role.......$10,000!
Holy shite. Thank God for insurance. That is beyond fricking ridiculous.

Non complicated diverticulitis. No fever either.
Have a history but ER doc just felt a CT was a good idea......had a colonoscopy 2 months prior that verified diverticular disease.

I'm not sure why people are downvoting this when it is true. Insurance isn't the obvious reason a CT scan cost so much, but people don't bat an eye about spending money when they're just paying co-pays and bi-weekly premiums. If they didn't have insurance and had to pay directly, the demand would decrease significantly and the prices would have to come down to compensate.
