Mechanic help please: truck feels like the emergency brake

Is on in reverse and first gear. Just got to grand isle so truck problems are not good Just got to grand isle so truck problems are not much fun. Any idea what I'm looking at? Tia

only in first and reverse?

At best a differential problem at worst a transmission problem.

Now that I've tried it again it seems to be just reverse .

have you checked the rear brakes to ensure the parking brakes was fully disengaging/

What kind of truck is it? If it's an older model, it very well might have drum brakes in the back.
