I'm not a Bama fan.

So, there's that.

Just curious...
Is it a good thing because the young man is black or is it a good thing bc he's the most qualified and will do the best job representing the students of Alabama?

If I were black id get sick of the cheerleading segment of the population.

Both

It shows two things: enough of the student body gave a frick about SGA that they went out and outnumbered the Greeks in voting, and that being non-white at Alabama in a position of power is no longer an issue.

Black athletes may have been a staple but black SGA presidents have not. And coming on the heels of the UO story it is significant... And a very good thing.

I think Bama should make a real statement and fire Nick
Saban and hire a black coach

Fair question. I'd honestly say both. I think he will be a good president but I also can't help but applaud that he's the first non-Machine candidate to win since 1986 and the first African-American since the 1970s. Both are significant and especially so because of the UO situation and the all-white Greek system that has been in place at Alabama for so long. Making it even better is that his opponent was a BR native.

At least there are some positive race relations within colleges at this point.
