Not a full 180 but at least she got a taste of what BRPD actually deals with daily and how they handle the situations.

You would feel like she would have already done this as council woman.

She's never been a member of the Metro Council. But yes, she likely should have done this before taking her initial stance.

ETA: She actually served on the Metro Council in the late 80's to early 90's. I was mistaken.

I took that to mean they didn't hide any of their frustrations with the current climate in the city as a LEO.

I'm sure FGC will take the officers concerns into consideration.

I'm sure Gravy is already on the phone with her begging her not to change any views.

For real, though, I admire her for doing this. I can't stand the woman or her agenda, but actually going along for two shifts and seeing firsthand the waste of flesh criminal element we have lurking in this city, and the amazing officers we have rounding them up is more than Gravy or most of the black leadership has ever done to "bridge the gap."

I truly hope this gives her better perspective into the issues and sees that we don't have a police department problem, we have a ghetto culture problem. That is likely asking too much, though, considering she was elected by that ghetto culture.

If I ever want to get pissed off all I have to do is go look at his fb. Y'all saw his last post concerning Jews? Someone needs to remind him that they don't hold the hollocaust over our head every five minutes.

Why the hell wouldn't the "Advisory Council" get off their butts and go ride along as well? Still stunned that these people, who know frick all about policing, are going to be making decisions about changing the police department.

99% of ur Local politicians won't do this, it goes against their agenda.

Just like the locals who whine about officers shooting suspects, but wont go on one of the range tests that they do.

Last one who was a mouth, locally, went and killed nearly every innocent bystander on the course.

And of course, after it, he had a new perspective. LOL

Agreed. She may be "late" in doing this but at least she did it. I just hope the experience resonates with her and she makes policy with the officers in mind.

She knew it was bad out there. Going and seeing it firsthand probably makes her wish she had never run for mayor.

I apologize. She was a councilwoman almost 30 years ago. Nearly 15 years before I moved to BR.
