gun laws are for law abiding citizens not criminals. Murder is illegal but still happens.

I agree with stout except that I do think these things are more common because of the 24 hour news coverage. That and the fact that these guys become somewhat Internet infamous. Would-be criminals can read about every little minutia of these guys on the Internet after the coverage by the major news outlets turn of their cameras.

I agree. I carry every day and think that good, law abiding citizens should have the right. But I also think that they should be trained.
That said, it will do nothing to stop violent people from doing violent things.
Honestly the only way to get rid of GUN violence is to remove GUNS.
But that won't happen.
