Girlfriend/boyfriend doesn't count.
And engaged ain't married.
Married is a whole other pickle.

Generally no, but it depends on the cheating.
I've known folks who've cheated their way into a new relationship, over a long period of time, and married the new person. Of course it involved a break up at some point, but there was likely cheating before that point to some extent. Plus they weren't married, which makes a difference to some.
I think that's a bad way to do it, but I think it is less indicative of a proclivity to cheat in the future in some cases.

What if she only cheated because she caught her husband cheating? Does that change your view?
No because then I know she's an idiot. She should gather evidence, file for divorce, take all his shite, then look for strange dick.
If she goes out and cheats too, it isn't going to help her in divorce proceedings.

Okay, how do you know me and who do you think I am without saying my name?

Or what if the husband gets addicted to painkillers and starts shooting up the kids' tuition and their life savings? Is verbally and/or physically abusive?shite isn't always black and white. Cheating sucks, but we're human. We all have our breaking points.

Could you marry a woman who cheated on her husband or boyfriend before?
My response depends on what she looks like, so, you know the drill dammit!
PICS!
quote:
What if you were the person she was cheating with?
So, since you are obviously that person, we know you have pics!

In my experience, most women want/need to be in a relationship or they think/feel something is wrong.
Furthermore, from my observations, most women start looking for a new SO/BF long before they end the relationship.
To me, that is the same as cheating. Even if you do not actually have sex, if you are actively pursuing others or allowing them to pursue you when you are in a relationship, you are cheating and the cheating just gets consummated shortly after the breakup so the person can feel better about themselves (by telling themselves they aren't a "cheater").
But there really isn't a difference. Say person A has been flirting with person C while in a relationship with person B. Then A ends it with B and gets with C a day, week, or month later. Person A was/is a cheater. Like a monkey that doesn't let go of one vine until they have another to latch onto in sight.

I have this belief as well. It's emotionally cheating.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was known to have extramarital affairs.

So you believe that no one changes for the better? That the previous relationship was terrible and that a better relationship may cause different results?
I think there's a whole shite-ton of factors that go in to someone cheating. Sometimes it's just that they are piece of shite people with no morals or loyalty. But sometimes there's much more intricate things going on in their specific situations. I'm not saying that cheating is then justified. I'm just saying that given different circumstances, it's possible to have different results.

Or monogamy has never been the norm for the rich and powerful.

no need to try to justify your trashiness. if you had the poor enough moral compas to cheat on someone you were committed to in your late teens/early 20s, you cannot say with 100% certainty that you will never cheat again.
well, you can say it, but i wont believe you.

Yeah...I think most of us are weak creatures.
In the onslaught of chemistry,
Earthly bonds are sorely tested,
Even iron wills oxidize and turn to rust.
