The legalization of recreational marijuana in a handful of states opened the doors to all sorts of cannabis-laden commerce, from dinner service to vacation packages. It was inevitable that weddings, among the most expensive purchase an adult will ever make, would find a way to introduce weed into nuptials, receptions, and party favors.

For couples who choose to have an unmanned bar, the full cost can come to less than $300. But many opt for a budtender, a cannabis expert who oversees the bar and rolls joints for guests. Koop recommends one tender per 35 smoking guests and charges $25 an hour per budtender, plus setup fees. There are a few legalistic twists: Colorado state laws forbids guests from tipping budtenders, and the hosts of the wedding must technically supply the cannabis for the bar themselves and "donate" it to the server

How unbelievably trashy would a wedding be that literally had a guy getting paid to roll joints? I can't even imagine.

Weed is becoming worse than the craft beer craze.

Smoking a joint is one thing but if and when they start passing out edibles to people with no experience then expect problems.

Why is that any more trashy than a guy mixing and serving up alcoholic beverages? Because one is more socially acceptable? Serious question.

Seriously. Roll your joints before the ceremony, like a damn vet.

You and your friends must not be a very Fun Bunch.

I have been to a CO wedding. While there wasn't Marijuana supplied, everyone was cool with the guest smoking it in the smoking section.

Aww frick. I was going by my friend telling me two weddings of rugby teammates in Denver have had the suckers and chocolates.

Rolling joints is still stupid. I am just equally stupid.

It's been like this for decades. People just didn't talk about it in public until recently. But there are different species of cannabis, with different effects. So it makes sense if you smoke to differentiate the varieties.

A blowtender seems better addition than a budtender. Gets more people dancing.
