Yep. Every word that you left out of your inflammatory and misleading quote.

Edibles apparently make people go crazy.

Reefer madness all over again.

I didn't leave anything out. I titled the tread after the title of the article.

That's bullshite. I'm on record here on the OT as being pro-legalization. But apparently there is some risk associated with eating too many of these edibles and the result being what looks to be a psychotic episode. Geeze, some of you stoners are too fricking sensitive to anything negative about pot.

He took way more than the recommended dose. He started freaking out. Family members abandoned him. Then he killed himself with a gun that the family most likely knew he had with him.

It's like chugging a fifth of tequila and blaming the alcohol when you fall off a bridge.

Can't really infer that marijuana can lead to a "psychotic episode." This dude clearly just had issues. No stable, rational person decides to kill themselves because they're high.

that's a bit of a reach

the key piece of evidence is unavailable, due to death

the policy discussion is littered with negative assumptions, mistruths, and outright lies

the OP of this thread was not exactly fair. if you don't want reactions, craft the discussion in a neutral manner

This guy took the equivalent of a dab and shot himself? IT WAS DEFINITELY THE WEED!

Exactly. But this guy didn't just get high. He consumed way over the normal dose when he did not immediately feel anything after eating the first one. That lead to him flipping out and offing himself.

Don't play dumb. This is the reaction you were looking for.

That is not "way over" the normal dose.

I always smoke weed when I am out at the bars and nobody ever says anything but on the rare occasion when I have part of an edible people are always asking me WTF is wrong with me. I get so fricked up I can barely talk, like a HS girl who is stoned for the first time. I have no problem with people taking them but I usually stay away. They are just too much...

All I did was quote the article. Nothing more. I have no issue with people wanting to smoke pot or eat it for that matter. I didn't even know it was possible to have the sort of reaction this guy did but it looks like if you eat enough of these things, it can lead to some pretty bad things happening. Why so many are getting their dander up and getting so defensive over this thread is beyond me.

You left out the part where he shot himself in the head. That's a pretty important part of the story, don't you think?

not really

again, the argument is being painted with mistruths to reach the designed conclusion.

again, this is why people are reacting. we can't have a discussion until the bullshite is removed

Something tells me that if he didn't have access to gun he wouldn't be dead. Pot or no pot.

Edibles are basically the only way I use pot. After the first few attempts you figure out the best amount for your favorite type of high. Also edibles come with a tremendous variety of different strains and different plants. You have to figure out what the edible you are consuming is meant to do.
