Accuses another poster of ad hominem attack while making ad hominem attack in the same sentence.

I get the feeling you're the kind of guy who doesn't miss a veterans' discount. I'm also not convinced you actually served. You talk like every stolen valor clown that gets outed in a youtube video.

My man, you are not as smart as you think you are. There are good reasons that no one agrees with you here. This isn't a court of law and no one is saying they would be prepared to find him guilty of any particular charge beyond a reasonable doubt. They are saying "wow, the information we have so far suggests that this guy has always been a POS and this Advocate story reeks of damage control by his lawyer." In other words, you are the one missing the nuance here, not everyone else.

Definition of ad hominem: Appealing to the emotions rather than to logic or reason.

You’re right, I appreciate my Home Depot discount especially building out my deck.

Stolen Valor…that’s a slanderous barb but in-line with what seems to be the cool guy thing to do today.

So we are giving human trash an out now for physically assaulting the elderly?

If you are that effected by PTSD that you can't go out into society without assaulting someone then you should be confined to a mental institution at very least.

Again, I’ll say let’s hold onto facts and not innuendo, conjecture or Fakebook musings.

such a strange stance to take when we have a video of the entire incident and just a few lines about PTSD from the one charged. PTSD or not, it's still illegal to punch people in the face in parking lots.

This is what bothers me about the PTSD claims. I’m sure some are real but some just seem to want attention. I have a relative who drove fuel trucks in Iraq and claims to have severe PTSD. He goes on FB all the time and rants about any and everything then apologizes later because of the PTSD.

On the other hand, three of my uncles all served in the European theater in WWI and were in constant battles. One had the lower quadrant if his face blown off and had numerous surgeries to reconstruct his face. He was the kindest, most gentle man you could find. The father of the relative with PTSD drove Higgins boats on D Day and was wounded and his arm was partially paralyzed the rest of his life. He was a jolly, generous man and I don’t remember him ever overwhelmed by memories of WWII. They all seemed glad to just be alive and back home where they started a new life with wives, kids and jobs.

In your two decades in uniform, you still haven't gotten over lying to yourself. Sounds like you were a shite whatever you were in those years.

quote:

It did however teach me to get all the facts before going off half cocked. Just being consistent.

Well, you could've fooled all of us, cause this is a full-cocked approach at you taking a side not based on any logic. Seems like you either have emotion invested in it yourself or are shite when it comes to actual logical reason.

It's on video, he's toast. All he has left is emotional appeals and here you are pied pipering stupidity with emotions of your own and calling it logic. That's a tard's move when emotional plays are all Dickie really has. The only PTSD freakout he had was when he remembered being caught like a little boy and ran to the VA to buy him time out of jail.

Dickie Suarez bit off more than his arse could chew. That article is a desperate retroactive attempt to cover up the actions of a boy who played like acting like a man for too long.

Old man's lawyer should request the communications between the author of the article and Suarez's lawyer in discovery. Then we can see some real bullshite logic, timestamped and printed.

Reading this thread thinking people could bring it down a notch. Human psychology is a delicate thing, none of us really have the relevant information. We are basically arguing archetypes and siding with the one that corresponds with our world view . There is nothing wrong with that just saying none of us are fully informed. I’d like to see an outcome that allows a combat military vet a future IF he is no longer a danger to civilian Moms at markets AND if the victim agrees.

So much goes into what causes PTS in one person versus another. Kind of like the non-alcoholic son vs alcoholic son of the alcoholic father.

Some folks are more predisposed due to preexisting issues, genetics, different exposures, etc…

There is a good reason many jurisdictions have instituted veterans courts to specifically deal with such issues.

They don't want the entire article copied and pasted. Some copyright issue or something.
