They robbed him at gunpoint. They better throw any charges out. Yeah, he could have just followed them but I think he was justified in what he did and luckily the guy lived because he hit him hard.

Police say just minutes before the crash, Chavez and his passenger were robbed by two men they hit. The robbery took place at a nearby park.

Police say the men robbed Chavez and his passenger at gunpoint before taking off on foot. Police say Chavez then followed the suspects in his car, and used his vehicle to run them over.

Lock all three of them up.

Ehh, no, no he was not justified. If he had done it immediately in fear for his life, sure, but chasing them down and running them over is a crime.

Under what pretense? This guy tried to kill them with his vehicle long after they had fled the scene.

He's obviously a hero in the eyes of the OT, but in what civilized society is anything he did acceptable? The thieves are complete scum, no doubt about it, but that doesn't excuse his actions at that point.

Did you see the video? This guy is a nut case. The thieves and the driver need some serious rehabilitation.

"You're never excused when you're using your vehicle as a weapon,"

Apparently he's never watched "Cops" on TV. They do it all the time, are trained to do it. I completely support the honest, clean cops out there, but this is one of those overt double standards that gives the ignorant another thing to hate them for.
