I agree, but you can't chastise a woman for using the police as a way to punish this guy while applauding others who would just kick his arse. Not every situation involves a victim that would or could go the physical route.

No one is chastising the woman for calling the police, although I will chastise her for likely being a shitty parent who lets her kid run wild in a public waiting room with other adults around.

Not every call to the police has to end with an arrest, have some perspective. Cops could have showed up, given warnings, and diffused to situation easily. They really just don't give a shite about circumstances and making a judgement call if there is even a slight chance they can haul someone in.

I take back my comment before about being over charged- both are misdemeanors in CT where this took place. One of which they will have difficulty proving I think.

CT statutes

quote:

Sec. 53a-64. Reckless endangerment in the second degree: Class B misdemeanor.(a) A person is guilty of reckless endangerment in the second degree when he recklessly engages in conduct which creates a risk of physical injury to another person.

      (b) Reckless endangerment in the second degree is a class B misdemeanor.

Dude are you serious? I saw you argue that a black guy deserved to shot in the face because he was trying to get away from a cop, but now this guy needs a slap on the wrist for assaulting a child?

You're a fricking idiot because I was arguing the exact opposite in that thread and I'm sure others would agree that I would be the last to defend that execution.

assaulting a child?

Hyperbole much?

If a wet willy and the like is "assault" then the whole of the OT should be locked up.

What if he thought he knew them and was simply mistaken. Have you never been in a situation where someone wasn't who you thought they were? Harmless mistake maybe?

It was a wet willy people. He didn't rub poop in the kid's hair.

The whole OT isn't going around sticking their fingers in random kids ears either. Assault can be defined as any unwanted physical contact.

In common law, assault is the act of creating apprehension of an imminent harmful or offensive contact with a person. An assault is carried out by a threat of bodily harm coupled with an apparent, present ability to cause the harm.

But what was the need to do it? Is wet willying someone necessary?

Sure, let's throw all common sense out the window with restraint and context, while we're at it.

How do these people who need police in all aspects of their life function?

If it were your wife and kid I'd bet every guy on this board will want to beat the crap out of him and if they couldn't they would want to see him squirm in the justice sytem.

I would think it is funny and a harmless prank. Which it is.
