Not to mention the owners of this bar also own the Swamp and the Beach.

Where is that in the story?

I think I misunderstood. On the news last night they said that but I'm guessing it's because they only recovered $57,000 and a truck leaving a shite-load of money missing.

C'mon man. Untraceable cash? you gonna put that in a bank and make a paper record? No, you put that in your pocket.

According to the sec of state website, dude owns a shite ton of restaurants and bars in the FQ and a couple in Chalmette.

I can see where this may have been the drop point for his other ventures. Maybe he was acting as his own bank for the other businesses that he was running.

Yeah I get that, but in hindsight wouldn't you rather give uncle sam 27% to fight the North Koreans or have some a-hole take all of it and blow it on women, weed and alcohol??

most places work very hard to keep the amount of cash out of the news.

The blatant admission and attempt to recover that much money from a bar leads my suspicious mind to think they overstated it by about 300k.

It sounds like he was behind on his "rent."

You can own all the buildings you want in the FQ. You still have to pay your rent.

The story on WWL-TV last night reported that ~$593,000 was stolen (they had an exact figure, I just don't remember it) and $57,000 was recovered from Randazzo's truck. So over $500,000 is still missing.

A PI has been hired by the bar owner(s) and a $10,000 reward is being offered for info leading to the recovery of the missing money.

I never said it was good practice, but there are a lot of places in the quarter with this ridiculous amt of cash on hand at any given time.

Why wouldn't he skip town? 500k can buy a nice start to a life in a place far away. What a dumbass to stay in town.
