Agree or disagree - anybody that will tell you “little” lies will just as easily tell you big ones??

Whether in relationships or business.

Is there an acceptable amount of lying you tolerate from people??

What about the person who never lies to you but withholds important information...

Nah. I trust my gf not to lie about big stuff. But she will absolutely lie about not having any coke left when out at the bar or a party.

Everyone lies everyday. For example:

“How was your day?”

Answer: “Fine.”

The truth: “My supplier is short on capital and moved everyone to COD for deliveries. The driver shows up two hours earlier than scheduled and refused to wait for someone to be onsite that has check signing authority. We had to send our own truck to meet him at another site, pay him and offload by hand. That pissed off our driver who came in threatening to quit because he said he doesn’t make enough to move freight himself. I told him to hit the road and don’t come back. So after getting our truck emptied, we pulled in the 3rd shift early to play catchup. I’m beat and need a beer.”

See, ain’t nobody got time for the truth. Except maybe Chris.

We just established saying it hurt is an exception so might be lying if I told you.

It just seems sometimes we get comfortable dealing with lies and it opens the door.

Just had a work colleague continue to make “excuses” on a business situation that all added up were just a bunch of lies to cover his arse. Had to call him out and regret letting it get that far.

But also had it happen in relationships in the past. Lying about stupid shite.

Idk, i’ll take all the honesty you got but looking somebody in the eyes and lying just isn’t something I’m ok with.

Lying by omission may be worst in some ways.

I’ve never understood people that out right lie for no reason.

For example, there was a guy years ago we all met through mutual friends. This guy mentions playing baseball for Mississippi State then floating around the minors for a couple of years. Granted, we’re all mid 30s at this point.

FF a few months and we get this guy to play on our fun co-Ed softball team and he’s average at best but mechanics both throwing and swinging a bat are horrible. Either way he stuck to his story over the next couple of years. Nobody gave a shite and weren’t close friends so it wasn’t worth calling him out.

I always laugh at that tho. Who cares? It’s not like we’re all impressed as middle aged men or that we’ll like you better because you used to play baseball.
