I know this is food board stuff, but I'm sure some have seen coco talking about smoking a turkey. She hasn't mentioned that it's a 22 pounder.
I'm starting to read for suggestions via google, and I'm thinking that it's not going to work. Anyone have experience smoking that big of a bird?

Do you have a dedicated smoker? That's a huge bird.

It would work, just take a really long time.

About 20-25
I begged my mom for us to have it catered. She refused.
I think I'll get a head start and start hitting the bottle hard today.

That big of a bird is going to take forever unless you just don't care about drying it out. That's the problem with smoking such a big bird.

I agree. Brining is a must when trying to smoke a bird that large.

I'm more worried about it drying out. We set it in a brine last night

My mama would have a hissy if she saw that.
So I hid the jars deep in the garbage

Can you link me the exact smoker? That makes a difference. Is it offset?

I brined one and did it in an oiless deep fryer...came out good

eh, it isn't that big of a deal. Mrs.Dog is more upset, since turkey day was at our house this year.
I blame the baby for getting them sick and me missing the sweet potato casserole
