Have any of you enrolled in this program? What was your experience?

Any information appreciated.

LINK

Courses are taught by the same faculty as the full-time, EMBA, and PMBA tracks. 14 courses, and each is seven weeks long.

I'm contemplating an online MBA also, but I feel like you miss out on all the networking associated with a professional MBA if you just did it on your own at your house.

Also, does anyone know if employers look at a well respected online MBA the same as a classroom one?

I hope to do the program when I'm with a company that will fund it.

If you're going to do an online program, do Kenan Flagler or Kelley.

I looked at LSU's online and executive programs before I started my MBA. I love LSU but I am paying out of pocket for mine and it is way over priced. I belive the online program came in around 43k and the executive was 51k. Thats insane for a state school. ULM offers one for mid 20k's and LSUS offers one for a little under 20k. As much as I love LSU, I couldn't pay that much more for a degree from another state school. I just started LSUS.

ETA: I would do on campus if it's an option for sure. Not an option for me with none local and I couldn't relocate with a good job and a local business.

I've been looking into it. I want to see more of their employment numbers for the online program, though. They sent them to me a while back, but I didn't check.

Thanks everyone.

I have looked at a few option for this type of program. I would prefer to go through LSU, but I agree that the cost is out of line with other similar options.

It has been my experience that the MBA at the end of your name is more important than where it came from.

Man you only get 9 hrs of electives, and you do not get to choose a concentration? That blows. If the price difference between traditional and online is less than 20K I would definetly choose the former. Graduating this week in a traditional MBA format, and believe that there is no way the online program could teach you the same things you learn in the traditional format.

That's why I want to do a traditional program. I just don't honestly know how to approach it.

I was thinking that route, till they dropped the 90K price tag on me haha I'll keep searching, but UNCs online program is easily top 3 for online programs. And it does have that big name program appeal national employers like.

ETA: I'm not looking to land a job with a big name financial company so I'm not overly concerned about the program name on my MBA. I just want one for advancement so cost of the program has been my main concern.

I agree completely as far as the student experience that you miss out on quite a bit online. The difference in the degree for hiring purposes though is minimal. Many bosses realize you miss out some, but also have respect for those that pursue the degree with no other options but online (at least my VP and CEO have stated that to me). I'm doing it more for my own gain than for career advancment though and I still hate the fact I'm missing out on the networking factor. Not to mention most of these schools that have started these programs are using their same teachers for both. While that may seem like a positive, it's not. Of the ones I had at ULM (I took two semesters there) they were not qualified to to teach online and the help they could offer was limited. It was older teachers who were prob great in the class room.
