might be a stupid question but who pays for that?
It's a joint project with the LSU Housing and Alpha Phi nationals.
Girls are going to be renting directly from LSU per bed, which means it is going to cost a crapload more than any of the fraternities or sororities are charging for rooms right now. It'll cost whatever they are charging for the Engineering and Business dorms just for the board before you even start touching dues or meals. The House Corps. all seem pretty excited about the fact that they'll just get to point down the row and jack up their prices.

It sounds like LSU will treat this new house as a dorm/on-campus living option - I believe that's how Alabama just built a shite ton of their new greek houses. They consider them "dorms"

pretty much.
They're also renovating that Press Services house that the cops always set up as a speed trap this summer for Alpha Phi to use until the new house is complete. They will then have that house to add another group if somebody wants to colonize. It'll be the same dorm type setup with the beds being rented from LSU.

Anyone else think that parking lot is going to be an absolute shite show

They just added more parking closer to Lod Cook but I bet some parking will be lost when they renovate the U-Rec soon
A total cluster frick will soon to appear

Most of that lot is going to be short term metered parking.
Lots of parking spaces are going to be lost when they do the renovation to UREC. Most of what is left is going to become 2hr. maximum XLot parking that is aimed to icnrease turnover back there so fewer cars that belong to people in sorority and new row stay back there all day, and more of it will be available for UREC patrons.
I think the number of Greek designated parking spaces back there is going to be less than 150.

Why did they demolish the old Delta Chi house. Was it not repairable?
Would have cost too much money in order for it to be live able by sorority standards

The problem is that the only houses that will help is Chi O and Sig Ep. Nobody is going to want to walk all the way down the row.
If they tear up that parking lot behind the UREC, that area will become unlivable.

Wasn't there cement in the pipes? I've heard that a million times but no one could ever verify if it was actually true.

Alpha Phi's rush is going to be shite for the next several years. They don't have a house, they are supposedly living on the top floor of Herget, and all of the girls who are still around are whores or ugly as frick. There is a very good reason most of them ended up in Alpha Phi.
Then, once they get into their house they're under LSU's rules. That fricking blows.

I've heard the same thing. Didn't know the validity of it though
