I'm paying fees out of the arse, including fees for printing services. If I don't have to pay the fees, I'll consider buying my own stapler (and printer).

Sorry man but LSU is pretty cheap as far as tuition and fees go.

Theyre shutting down a computer lab that I might use once a week to browse the internet instead of studying.

Are you ever in the library? I work there a few times a week. When the printers are down in the 2nd floor lab, the line for the printers downstairs can back up 15+ people deep for hours.

And printing wasn't initially free with the student tech fee. The group that manages the account restructured the replacement of computers to allow students to get free printing.

Free printing? Where? Not in the main labs at LSU.

I've said college is the opportunity for students to enhance their critical thinking skills. There are other options than standing in a printer line 15 deep.

Printing isn't free, although it is cheap at 5 cents per page. However, if there are no printers from which students are able to print (when the first floor printers inevitably go down)...

I know they added like 150 copies a semester with the Student Tech Fee in 2008 or so.

You realize they aren't closing the doors to it, right? I was under the impression that they were just converting it to a study area due to the fact that the majority of students on campus now own laptops. (I think they found from a study that around 90% had laptops). You can still go there to study.

ETA not that it matters to me. My life is in CEBA

Well duh. shite happens though, and that's not always possible for everyone.

Students do pay a Student Tech fee, which does fund the labs at LSU. Part of the labs includes printers. It only makes sense that students should be able to print on campus. I don't know why this is ridiculous to you.

Boss, the printer was down in our department so I couldn't print the 25 copies of the presentation needed for our major presentation. Hope you're okay with that!

Lol, show me the major company that has a single stapler in their primary building. While you're at it, find out who's stealing my "150 free copies per semester" that I'm apparently paying for, because that shite doesn't exist.

You two keep mindlessly knighting on, though.

I told you they added it in 2008. It's clear it's been eliminated.

Truth. Which is why I'm reminding everyone that the area will still be there for them to study! Haha...stay on your side of campus, non-CEBA-ites!

At least there are engineer-only labs in CEBA.

Is the room still gonna be open? There are stacks there so I'd assume so.

You can still study there right?

This has nothing to do with staplers or printers, fwiw.
