Lurked a bit and contemplated posting earlier but I thought this would be a question some here could answer. Planning on going to LSU this fall semester, any of yall have any thoughts on a dorm. Really considering evangeline and herget fwiw.

Tiger Stadium with a gas mask is the cheapest route.

If you are majoring in any of the majors which have their own residential colleges, live there.
Avoid Herget and the Pentagon.

Herget FTMFW.
Best dorm on campus.

Does not compute.

Off campus apartments are cheaper and there's not a move out date (like between semesters in a dorm.)
There are some on Burbank that are like a dorm in that you have 3 other roommates with shared common areas and private bedrooms.
Ask a student what the names of these places are.

Live in Herget.
Thank me later.
Are you a hot girl? They require me to ask.

That's okay.
You'll meet plenty in Herget and Miller.

Also, living in some of the dorms is like living in a walk-in closet as the rooms are very small.

Burbank Commons and University Crescent.
Those are perfect places to move after you live a dorm for a year.

My nephew went there first and skipped the dorm.

I'm guessing you've stayed in herget.
I hear its kind of a dump, I'm sure its not the most appealing on campus but what makes it cool with you?

If possible, live in the Business, Engineering, or Cypress Dorms

It's a dorm. They're all kind of dumps. It's freshman year of college dude. Enjoy the hell out of it.

It's co-ed, next to an all girl's dorm, residential, placed well, and always has fun people in it.

Not sure if this also applies to LSU, but dorms blow. Off campus is where its at.

Dorms are necessary for Freshman year. Living off campus freshman year is just stupid.
Dorms are a great way to meet people, stay out of trouble, have no responsibility, etc.. etc...

It's small for sure. Definitely not the most appealing.
Good location, though, and it's a ton of fun. Right next to Miller Mansion and the Rec too.
