Cause you can get Tops to pay for grad school if you shorten undergrad.

Like any high school, you can get drugs but those kids tend to get caught or wash out with tight social media monitoring by the goon squad and room searches.

You're so full of shite. Period. Drugs are no worse at LSMSA than at any other high school.

How old are you? About 28-ish?

I tested out of over 30 hours at LSU. Helped me get two degrees in 4 years (I did take Summer classes twice). I didn't go to LSMSA, though, but I could have

No, there fricking wasn't. There were people that used drugs, just like any other school.

Thanks folks. You've told me about what I figured.

She's driving this bus. The whole thing is on her and has been from the beginning. She wants it. I didn't let her go the last two years but for Senior year I think she's ready. To be honest she was ready before but I wasn't.

Not worried about the drug shite with this kid. We've discussed it and it's probably worse where she is now than it is at LSMSA. I think this would be a great way to get her ready for Honors College at LSU. I've got two others who are just as smart or smarter but without this one's drive. She's got a mature focus beyond her years and I'm willing to accept it at this point as the best thing for her.

Going to let her go.

Sounds like she can do much better than LSU. Maybe Ivy League or Stanford. Good luck and Congrats.

Yeah, I agree with this. I tested out of a bunch of freshman courses, too. Jumping into upper level classes while trying to adjust to a completely new environment was not the best plan for me. YMMV.

I went to school up there many moons ago.
The only problem I had were controls weren't in place to monitor all the students' "activities." We did pretty much what we wanted and I was not that great at scheduling, budgeting and organizing my time nor my school work.

I'm sure the good folks there have tighter reins on what goes on now.
Made friends there that I still have and hope to always have. Wouldn't trade my time there for anything.

I think it's very smart of you to allow her to make the final decision. Leaving her friends behind at her school can be quite traumatic.

To be honest, she's such an oddball at her school, most of her best friends are at LSMSA. I probably should have let her go a couple years ago, but I wasn't convinced of how smart that was. I'm raising my kids, and I know when they're ready or not. She wasn't ready then. She is now though. The fact that they still want her is pretty flattering since they take so few seniors.

I went as a junior.

If she already has friends there, she won't have to take as much time to adjust.

I have been asked about the school numerous times. I always say, loads of opportunities await those who do well there. The La. School connects universities with some the brightest and most talented kids our state has to offer.

She's spent the weekend down there before with her buddies and is always talking with them on whatever social media they frequent at the moment. Nonstop skype and the like. She really just doesn't connect with the rednecks and cheerleader culture in her home school and just couldn't care less. I think it will be a better move for her socially and not just academically. She needs to be able to hang with kids at her level.

Unless it has changed in the past 10 years, this is one of the biggest jokes of a program at LSU.
