I've had pain in the lower back recently and unexpectedly. I'm seeing the doctor soon but just curious. It's right above the tailbone in the lumbar region I guess.

50% of the time it feels fine.
40% of the time it be kinda dull aching and uncomfortable.
10% of the time it will be throbbing of moderate intensity.
4-5 times when standing up or sitting down, I've had huge jolts of very sharp pain that took my breath away and rendered me motionless for a couple of seconds and pretty damn sore for awhile afterwards.

Degenerative Disk Disease. I've dealt with it for many years. Lose weight and learn to stretch. These will greatly improve your situation.

Lay with your legs elevated and supported if you have trouble getting relief. No one can diagnose it so disregard the web mds on here.

IMO the best thing for it is stretching.

Get on you back and pull you knees up to your chest.Roll from side to side.

Get on your stomach and stretch.

Try not to re-injure it or strain it.

I started with 1 bulging disc and have 4 now.So try to take of your lower back.If possible try to strengthen it.

Yeah. I know no one on here can diagnose it. I honestly don't trust doctors to diagnose stuff ala lot of the times after very very bad experiences with misdiagnosis, long damn story.

My dad sent me a copy of Pain Free and I've started doing the exercises for that. We will see. He was nearly crippled before he started doing all the stretching for a long time and after doing those exercises, he's fine.

I'm not even sure ofnthatbwill help. I should have mentioned, the pain seems in conjunction with a pain in my arm and flare ups from a wound in my leg caused from an old illness.

Written from my phone so sorry for grammar.

Just go to a pain management doc and get pain meds for the rest of your life.

I don't like any medication. shite, I was abroad when they prescribed me some pain meds. I noticed I was having bad stomach pain and horrie shits every morning. It turns out, the medicine hadn't passed the FDA in the US yet because it had a nasty habit of punching a hole in your intestines.

I'm really getting sick of all of this medical shite. I have career opportunities that require passing health tests and I doubt I will.

If you're able, strengthen your stomach. That's half of what holds your back together.

If you have a disc problem or something impinging a nerve then it may bother you off and on.

I'm not a fan of injections in my back. One stuck my sciatic nerve and put me in hell for 49 days.

Be smart with your back.

I had that

started doing leg lifts and going for walks....

it slowly got better.

I'd only take note of the doctors opinion, then think on it prior to taking any action [ it took years to learn how to do that ] you may want to take advantage of any pain meds offered and physical therapy and or a chiropractor.

I had a different experience with docs.

Chronic low back pain for years. When it became a constant pain level 6/10, went to doc then PT. Physical Therapist figured out that I likely had one or more herniated discs that had since healed but left my back with severely weakened musculature. Coup de grace was probably on an Army deployment when I was on quarters for 3 days. Put me through an exercise regimen and said I would have to follow it for the rest of my life. It has helped tremendously but I still have probs at times and have to refrain from certain activities when possible...like driving or standing for long periods.

Moral of story is I thought it was a herniated disc and sciatica, turned out to not bevthe case thanks to good medical professionals.

If you were in Baton Rouge, Dr. Plantz would pick you up. You might be a little far.

Seriously, I always thought Chiropractors were quacks. My neighbor referred me to one that he had used, and in 3 visits, I went from walking with my knuckles dragging the ground to pain-free. See if you can find one that works with any of the UGA sports teams. This doc works with several LSU sports teams, and he really did me some good. After that, stretch, stretch, stretch and do the ab excercises.

Lumbar strain. Ice pack for 20 minutes. Muscle relaxers. Walking.

I'm in better shape than I look but I carry more weight than I look if that makes since. I have at times a very physics job but I don't think that's the case here with the correlation between the arm and foot pain. I have nerve date in my foot for certain. I'm really paranoid about this being connected with past medical issues.
