To make a long story short- I bought a 2012 Jeep Wrangler brand new in 2012. I have taken it three times to two different CDJ dealerships to fix the same problem. We are approaching the 4th time when I bring it in tomorrow. I am still within the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. I have 34 k on the car. Who should I talk to at the dealership about fixing this annoyance? THE GM or service manager? How do I approach this? All I want is the problem fixed. Should I casually mention the Lemon Law or act pissed off when I get there so I can get a rental?

Make a huge scene.

Say the term Lemon law really loudly all through the place, to the service manger especially.

I'm fairly certain the time has passed for lemon-lawing it, but I could be wrong.

You're correct on the same problem deal, but I think,it has to be in the first year or so.

You need to get an extended warranty, or trade it in.

Tell the GM you will contacting your attorney if the problem isnt resolved this go around and then if not he needs to get you out of that POS and into something new. Maybe a new dodge ram?

I could have bet a lot of money that this thread was going to be about an American car before I even opened this thread.

TIME PERIOD FOR FILING CLAIMS: Later of (1) three years following purchase or (2) one year following end of warranty.

I know it's too late for you but I bought three chryslers and one jeep. The last two vehicles were the worst I have ever owned in my life. I had a Chrysler caravan that had the transmission replaced three times. The jeep was a wrangler sport and it was nothing but trouble. Amazing that they keep selling them. Good luck.

It actually went to trial? Lemon cases nearly always settle.

Yes. Dealership claimed zero liability all the way through. I tried to settle, but no movement from them. Shitty thing is in order to get atty fees, plaintiff would need to prove bad faith. Good luck with that.

Wow. Not an attorney myself but my brother used to handle lots of lemon cases and I don't think a single one of them went to trial.
