Yeah that's fine. I'll get some more info together on upcoming auctions and private buyers so you can check out different options. If you can get me a list of the bulk of the vintage stuff I'll put out feelers. Some of these guys will even fly in if they think it's worthwhile.

Sounds like a very impressive collection. If you don't mind bumping this thread and let us know how it goes. I don't mean how much you get for it, I understand that's personal.

I'm just curious as to how easy/long it will take to move a collection like this and if you're able to get a good % of what it sounds like it's probably worth.

Sure. These cards are more sentimental to me than anything. Some are rough looking but some are in great shape. Wasnt going to seel. Was going to give to my daughters when I passed on but they would rather see their mom get her dream vehicle. We have been planning on building a house and mom has a used vehicle and puts up with a lot of crap. To me she is well worth it.

If it makes your wife happy then roll with it. Most of us hate to see it traded in on a car that'll lose value.
If it were an antique car, not so much.

Not an antique car. She will tell me its not necessary. But i know she has been saying she wants this. Makes me happy to see her happy. I can be an arse and wonder how she puts up with me but she is worth every penny.

I bet. I remember some of the collections that my grandparents had that were my uncles'. My mom had 4 brothers who were huge into sports growing up. They had a Nolan Ryan rookie, some Willie Mays, etc and as a teenager in the 90s when the card boom was going on it blew my mind and I was so jealous of my cousins because they got the cards.

I had a Mantle and a few others that were relatively rare and valuable but nothing like yours.

I broke my arm when I was in 2nd grade and spent a cpl weeks in the hospital, I think it was '84 Topps and Fleer that I got a shitload of as everytime someone visited they would stop at the corner store across the street from the hospital and pick up a handful of packs to bring me.

Then in the late 80s- early 90s I was in The High when Ken Griffy Jr and Randy Johnson were "Rated Rookies" and we all thought we were going to be rich.

I remember going to Walmart and knowing the pattern of the packs and what to look for to get the Bo Jackson B&W and going to this old store in town to get the new Beckett Price Guide.

Those memories are worth more than the cards.

Tl;dr. Sorry for the novel.

If you are gonna sell a great card for the wife a sweet ride she has to know that it means butt stuff with a hot friend of hers guiding it in there. Just my 2 cents
