Looking to buy a new set of golf irons

I'm looking at buying a new set of irons and wedges. Any recommendations from the golfers of the OT?
I currently hit Ping ISI irons and wedges.

I've hit the Ping G and they hit great. I want to hit the Ben Hogan PTx, and the Titleist AP2.
The TaylorMade M2 seem strong lofted for my game. I am interested in the M1 irons coming out.

If your handicap is under 10 go mizunu

My handicap is around 15, if I played more I would probably be around a 10.

Go to Edwin watts and hit a few of their used sets. They have a bunch. If you like ping, stick with ping. If you're not sure what you want, try Apex CF16, Titleist AP2, Ping G, TaylorMade RSi, or Mizuno JPX EZ. If you want something that fits you best, find a fitter who isn't locked in on one manufacturer. Best thing about fitting is that should get you the right shaft length, lie angle, and swing weight along with a club that's as forgiving as you need it to be.

I tried out the M2s on a recent golf trip, and once I got past the jacked up lofts and the fact that they looked like shovels, I was nothing short of blown away. I was throwing darts all day and it was effortless. Even poor swings, I wasn't overly punished by them. At my best I was a 4.3 index, still shoot low 80s with the occasional high 70s. At this point I'm thinking of putting my ego aside and putting my Mizunos mp52s out to pasture.

Titleist AP1 or AP2 if you're a decent ball striker

Mizuno MP-25's, if you being honest about your abilities, if not dont waste your money.

Are we not well beyond the "low HC = blades" and "110+ swing speed = x stiff shafts" era?
Very often, amateurs need forgiving clubs and players who are around 10-15 could be 5-8 if they didn't have an ego and think they could hit muscle backs. Again, hit multiple clubs in multiple "classes". Get fit by someone who knows what they're doing.

I really want a set of Hogan Ft Worth blades for nostalgia but I wouldn't touch a set of Hogan's right now unless it was a fantastic deal on a used set. They will be bankrupt within the year rendering their resale as worthless.
Ping always holds their value and make really good irons for players not able to invest a lot of time into the game.
The AP2s are nice too and Titleist clubs hold their value for awhile but not like pings since Titleist tends to update their line each year.
For forgiveness, the sets I would look at are the Callaway XRs and Titleist AP1s. Look around for the Nike sets in big box golf stores, they should be a low investment and were well made clubs.
For the midsize irons, I would take a look at the Titleist AP2s or CBs, Ping i200s or Mizuno MP25. Callaway has the Apex irons too.
For players clubs there aren't many choices. i play a set of Miura Tournament blades that I have had for about 4 or 5 years. Mizuno has the MP5s, Ping has a blade out now and the Callaway Apex Pro is pretty tight too.
Again, at any level I would look at the Nike stuff due to quality of build and they should be on clearance level prices, then you could spend the extra money getting them fitted for you with all new shafts and loft/lie.

I bought a new set of TM Speedblades last year. I hit them as well as anything I tested, and since they aren't the newest model out, they can be had for a very reasonable price. I hit them about 1 1/2 clubs longer than my early 2000's Hogan Edge Cft's. About 1/2 club was due to stronger lofts, so I guess the technology difference was good for one full club. They are a good, forgiving option for a mid-cap player. I can be anywhere from a 9-15 cap depending on how much im playing and practicing at the time. I'd recommend giving them a try if you aren't wanting to break the bank.

Stay ping. I'd go with i25s or if money is no concern try the new i200s. You can get the i25s for about half the price of the brand new stuff and the cfs shafts in the i25s are great.

I'll add this. Golf at a high level isn't just striking it in the sweet spot. It's about feel.
How does it respond when I'm trying to work the ball. When I move it around in my stance does it feel right.
Find a set that feels right in your hand. You'll play better with them.
