Looking for an old school type of gym in BR

Just moved back and I am trying to familiarize myself with the area again.
I went to Don Fields in Alexandria and really liked it. It was an old school type of gym with a lot of free weights and an outdoor workout area with tires and ropes. I am looking for a place like that in BR. Preferable that is month to month. Any suggestions?

Foxys is pretty similar to what you're talking about, but it gets pretty full in the afternoons after work.

Not sure how Foxy's is still in business. That place is disgusting. I was a member there from 94-2015. It's way too old and mildew everywhere.

That sounds suspiciously like Crossfit, bro.

Complimentary ball sack dryers in the locker room.

Red Stick Crossfit.
I work out there when I'm in town visiting my folks.

Fletchers House of Power is about as old school as you get in BR. Majority of members are powerlifters so tons of free weights, chains, power racks, and loud arse music. They used to own Bayou Fitness many years ago. We also had a membership at Calloways and liked it. They have alot of free weights including the power room which was set up pretyy decent.

My family had a membership at Foxeys in the late 80's. I would say that place is definately old.

Sorry man. It's been closed for years. Was the first real gym in BR. Alvin Roy was the first NFL strength coach.

Missed this post.
Try Fletcher's House or Power on Antioch near Tigerbend. 3-4 combo racks, a couple of squat racks and a shitload of free weights.
A 24 hour powerlifter gym.
It's around $50/mo and you get a key.
