Would having any kind of college degree better your chances for an entry level oil field job?

Sure won't hurt, but if you're going for an entry level job the degree won't matter- especially a BA. Still have to be taught and learn your craft. Degree will matter later though as you progress.

Do you want to move to midland, Texas? I need hands in midland in a bad way.

If you say yes, I will question your intelligence and not hire you anyway. Nobody should want to move to midland

I know there is money to be made is you hustle in the electrical field bit I worked hard( overtime and side jobs) to put myself through school debt free. I really want to find a job that pertains to my degree. I make decent money now and that is fine, but I don't want to be in my 40's and doing that kind of work

Midland is more of a sentence than a choice. Like going to Angola or DCI. You get sent there. You don't choose it

That's understandable. It's not for everyone and if I were more than a paper contractor at 34, like I am now, I would hate it. I did a lot of physical work to start out and still do some stuff every now and then if needed, but I like not having to do the physical part every day.

Lots of good jobs in the field. Just drive to Broussard and go down 90 knocking on doors. I guarantee you will get your foot in the door.

I might have to give this a try

Are you opposed to relocating to northern Canada?

Permanently, or on a 21/21 type deal?

At this point I'm really just trying to get my foot in the door anywhere, so I can't say I'm opposed to anything.

Unless you have a stepdad or an uncle already there, forget about it. I can't tell you how many 20 year olds I see working the rigs while I can't get a damn interview.
