I really like my neato. the design was very well thought out. everything I read about the roomba was that it was dumb and the way it was made alot of shite broke on it.

Go with the neato. It's much smarter. Doesn't just play bumper cars

looking into neato now. Any other reasons neato > roomba? Also does it clean well? Would you buy again?

I have the 450 I think... It's worth the money to me. I have to pets, set it to run 3 times a week while I'm at work... You have to keep it clean though... Not just the dust hopper. Brushes and wheels are crucial.

Neato is cheaper and better in my opinion. You can sign up for bed bath and beyond emails and use the 20% off on the neato or roomba

yeah it does a great job. I dont have it clean my whole house, just the utility room where the cats eat and use the litter box. maybe once a week we take it out and let it do the whole house. definitely would buy again. only downside is that you can only program it to run once per day, although maybe they have done something to fix that, I havent checked the firmware releases since I bought it.

I bought the roomba on amazon and found the "slightly used" version for much much cheaper and it was basically brand new. We named him Spencer.

Bit of advice... I bought a neato xv-21 online from Walmart. I also bought the protection plan thankfully. It had an issue with its laser and wouldn't work at all, but I just sent it in and it was repaired and sent back.

This little issue doesn't have any bearing on my opinion of the neato (my 3 year old could've taken his toy tools to it for all I know.) My dog sheds and I don't know how we ever lived without it. Worth every penny.

Do a search on here. A group of us OTers got them at the same time about a year or so ago. Lots of info in those threads. I have the vx-21 and it's been great. One of the best electronics I've ever bought.
