I am in the process of re-doing our kitchen and need a contractor to replace the current granite with new granite. Who are some reputable contractors in the BR area?

Did you flood or are you just doing it for fun? If the latter, you might want to wait another few months or so.

Good thinking. I will start on another area and give it some time for counter top prices to come back down.

It's not the prices as much as the backlog of work all of these fabricators have. We are building right now, thankfully bought our slabs a month before the flood. But we've not had a good time dealing with fabricators who we've been told are otherwise outstanding when not dealing with the chaos the flood created.

I have used Trent Stones in Baton Rouge, to install new kitchen countertops in my home and office. He does very good work, is conscientious, and his prices are reasonable. Trent Stones (225) 939-5699

This is who is doing our (my elderly parents who flooded) countertops. We've only selected the slabs so I can't give a full review but they have been great to work with so far. The communication has been great, the price was reasonable (even working through a contractor who gets a cut) and they worked really hard trying to locate a specific remnant my mom wanted.

I hope to replace my countertops soon and plan to use them.

I quit using them on projects because thier quality of work was poor. Always had to get them back for something

Yep and getting them back out to fix issues was always a pain. This was before the flood

If it were me I would just do butcher block and build it myself. Save lots of $$$.

I used Covington Kitchen but they came to BR. Came out to measure the next day. Price was right. They are Chinese so we texted mostly. You'd need to make at least one trip to Covington to pick out your granite. Covington Kitchen

I've seen plenty of full size contractors but I'm not even sure how you would go about mounting a smaller one on a counter top.
